About Joanne
Inspiration
Inspired by the luring and trapping mechanisms of carnivorous plants and webs, the intention of my current range of work is to combine beauty with entrapment.
Bright or subtle colours hand dyed on the aluminium and monofilament are designed to attract attention to the feminine features of the wearer - the slender neck, delicate wrist or graceful hand. Trapped beads or other elements in the jewellery create movement and sound within a piece. I create textures onto the metal using various media in the rolling mill that further enhance the concepts behind the piece. My current range of textures are different interpretations of webs.
I am constantly developing my range of anodised aluminium, silver and dyed monofilament jewellery from my home workshop near Chester, Cheshire.
